Photocopier technicians must have expert-level knowledge of photocopiers, strong computer skills and an understanding of computer networks and software programs. They should also be detail-oriented and mechanically savvy, with the ability to understand, install, disassemble and reassemble copiers and parts.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, maintain photocopier in optimum operating condition
- Manage and maintain a highly accurate parts inventory via handheld device
- Receive, prioritize and accurately close service calls via handheld device
- Assist with equipment installation, de-installation and calibration as needed
- Keep current with new technology through off-site education and online training
- Discuss equipment related problems and solutions to fellow technicians
- Team player, reliable, punctual and possessing a problem diagnosis and solving attitude
- Able to handle and solve new challenges, demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn
- Able to work independently, under pressure at customer sites and to accept challenges
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, BE or equivalent; or industry related experience and/or training required
- Computer literate and basic knowledge of networking
- Electronic & mechanical experience/aptitude
- Customer service oriented, good communication skills
- Experience working on digital copiers and/or laser printers (Canon, Xerox, Konica, Ricoh or Toshiba)
