Roles & Responsibilities
Plan and supervise the shipments from production to the end-user
Schedule daily and weekly routes
Track orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)
Coordinate with Warehouse Workers to ensure proper storage and distribution of products
Monitor and report on transportation costs
Ensure shipping documents are properly filed
Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods, responsibility to adhere to budgets and plan to maximise profitability.
Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders and process Ewaybill.
Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation
Stay up-to-date with safety regulations
Evaluate vendor's quotation to ensure that they are in line with the technical and commercial specifications required for the project
Create spreadsheets with vendor & product or service comparisons of prospective suppliers to support management decisions
Monitor and support returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims
Develop plans for the effective organization and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories at various company and/or independent warehouse locations
Qualifications & Skills
Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager, Shipping Manager or similar role
Solid knowledge of supply chain management
Experience preparing and tracking orders
Familiarity with logistics software
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to supervise and train staff
Problem-solving abilities
High school diploma
BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field is a plus
Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets
Ability to work independently
Proficient in use of MS Office Applications (Words, Excel, Access) and SAP
Excellent time management skills
Familiarity with solar technology, concepts and materials
