Role: Lab Assistant
The Lab Assistant is responsible for maintaining the overall operations in the Lab. Mainly this incumbent will support the DT (Director Technical) in conducting trials and presenting the analysis and reports and post trial working on improvisations and changes as decided and focus on continual improvement in Lab and QC operations
The Lab Assistant should be able to handle instruments, conduct trials, maintain day to day testing of incoming and outgoing materials, comply with ISO standards, conduct trials as instructed
Responsibilities
Operational
- Oversee Lab and QC operations on a daily basis
- Maintain discipline with regards to working, housekeeping and maintenance in the lab
- Working with measuring instruments & Chemical as per applicable methods
- Prepare daily reports and review consistently
- Handling daily forms, registers, reports as determined by DT (Director Technical)
- Providing support with Customer complaints, customer representatives, customer auditors and review suppliers’ performance
- Ensure achievement of productivity and reduced wastage targets
Customer order monitoring
- Review customer orders for quality details
- Prepare Quality plans & SOPs
- Monitor and test products against set Quality plan
- Data collection of rejects, wastage of materials, production, lab rework and report the same to DT (Director Technical)
QMS as per ISO
- Implement and maintain QMS as per ISO standard
- Communicate QMS related risks and opportunities, establish quality objectives, promote customer focus to the Lab team
- Monitor and drive improvements of QMS
- Ensure integration of QMS requirements in business process
- Compliance with QMS standard processes, identify non conformity and take relevant actions
- Maintain documentation and records of the same
Reporting:
- Prepare and send periodic reports on product Quality and lab operations to DT
- Prepare and present documents and reports to management as per QMS
An ideal fit for the role should have:
- Graduation in BSc (preferably in Chemistry) / MSc (Chemistry) will be welcomed.
- Previous experience in printing and/or textile industry
- Understanding of critical Lab and QC operations
- Experience of handling or openness of learning Machine Testing
- Energetic and positive work ethic and attitude
