Horus Jetpack (horusjetpack.com) is a hi-tech start-up located at CET Trivandrum. We mainly work on the design and development of Jetpack systems, and in parallel we also focus on efficient Renewable energy production. The computational facility has evolved drastically in the past few decades with the introduction of several adequate CFD computing facilities. This paved path for the development of several simulation techniques, especially for the fluid and solid mechanics. Today most of the Engineering. Problems can be simulated with the help of numerical simulations. Currently, more and more companies are banking on simulation codes due to their cost-effectiveness and manpower compared to the experiments.
Lattice Boltzmann solver is one of the pioneering research in the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) domain. Naiver-stokes solvers are weak in dealing with Low Reynolds number flows especially microflows. LBM together with Navier Stokes (hybrid models) could cover a large Reynolds number range. At Horus jetpack, you will be working on the development of new in-house software for simulating different problems. The project will be mostly numerical and involve developing the code in C++. The position is located within the division of Technology Business Incubator, College of Engineering Trivandrum at the Department of Mechanics. The Jetpack team will guide the research.
