• Oversee all software engineering processes, capabilities, and methodologies.
• Work across multiple functions (Data Science, Systems Architecture, Cloud Architecture, Solutions Architecture, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, Dev Ops) for all software engineering-related activities driving engineering excellence.
• Work with business and executive leadership to define and deliver technical product roadmap.
• Work with PAI solutions teams and customer teams for the continuous delivery of new releases and solutions.
• Lead the discussion and planning for future innovation and technology solutions.
• Ensures optimal application of engineering resources to meet product development and client requirements.
• Ensure implementation of agile processes that support site/software development processes.
• Play a leading engineering role tasked with planning, management, execution, and implementation of projects, inclusive of day-to-day project management, scope management, issue and risk management, as well as regular status reporting.
• Promote teamwork and leadership behaviours within own group, other peer groups and across the wider organisation.
• Direct, evaluate, and confirm product design and changes. Proactively lead operational readiness efforts associated with new technology-driven capabilities.
• Ensure technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization. Review and apply said best practices to establish architecture and frameworks consistent with and supportive of the Product Strategy.
Experience and Skills:
• Experienced technology leader with hands-on software development experience across a broad range of technologies and solutions involving open source big data technologies and analytics.
• Extensive hands-on design/coding experience/skills and foundational knowledge of associated technical disciplines.
• Proven track-record of owning end-to-end digital engineering processes; including software delivery, QA, agile/lean delivery, service management, technology strategy and architecture.
• In-depth experience of leading and inspiring large teams, with demonstrated ability to work across a matrix.
• Experienced in quality practices, techniques and tools at all layers of the software stack.
• Experience in developing security analytics solutions will be an added advantage.
• Experience with deployment, configuration, automation tools, DevOps methodologies, and the emerging field of serverless computing.
• Strong communication, negotiation and persuasion skills at all levels of the organization.
• Coaching and mentoring skills to drive the ongoing focus on engineering capability.
• Profound understanding of new and relevant technologies for the purpose of realizing efficiency.
