Assisting the dentists at the time of various treatment procedures
Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays).
Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and sterilizing and preparing the instruments and equipment.
Assisting patients to feel comfortable and relaxed before, during or after
oral treatment.
Following surgery or other oral problems, providing patients with instructions for oral care like taking impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth), placement of a restoration (filling)
Communicating with suppliers and patients and performing tasks like scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies etc., executing office management tasks that often require the use of a computer.
Assisting in providing regular dental care in case of all dental specialties including periodontics, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and oral surgery.
